My only regret after reading this is that I wish I would have read it when I was 18. This book goes deep into the inner workings of a man's mind and how to become a better man. It does so using authentic christian beliefs. If you are a man do you, your family and your community a favour and read this.
So far, great book! I would recommend this to anyone. We are using this book for our men's Bible study. It has a lot of thought provoking issues to talk about.
I purchased this ebook for my husband. The men's group at our church is doing a book study using it. They are all enjoying the study, and really like the book.
This book is targeted toward men and really for men, and their way of thinking. He has a devotion that is good to read afterwards or at the same time. It addresses the challenges men face, and helps men learn what most men didn’t learn from their fathers. He pulls in what our Heavenly Father desires for us, and helps relieve the stress the world puts on, sheds light on a Godly perspective.
Great update to this classic. I was getting ready to read my old paperback copy when I wondered if a Kindle version existed. Surprised by the great price and the very pertinent updates. It's a great resource to review one's worldview and philosophy, and how we're living that out. I can't recommend this enough; absolutely pivotal for me.
I read about half of the original book written in the 80's and had a difficult time moving past the verbiage. This edition is a relevant blend with some historical truths. I don't love everything in it, but there are great insights, especially for men growing up with a limited or without a father figure.
My best friend recommended for me to read this book numerous times. Of course I said yes but didn't make time to read it. I finally have and I am so glad I did. I am an avid reader, but this book cuts to the chase; it tells you in direct terms how to be a Christian man in the 21st century, applying Biblical concepts throughout. I am already using it to help counsel others as a minister in training, to lead our men's Bible study, and to keep myself focused on the message of Jesus in my daily life. You will find yourself turning back to its pages repeatedly for advice and support. I decided to buy the Kindle edition so that I will always have it with me on my smartphone for ready use and consultation. A must buy.
